Lag after switching folders

Unreal Engine 4.15.1
Version: 4.15.1-3348071+++UE4+Release-4.15
I get horrible lag after looking through folders in engine, so much that it is unusable. The only way to fix it is to exit and relaunch the engine.

Hello ,

I’m assuming that you’re talking about folders in the Content Browser? If so, when you mention “looking through”, do you mean actually clicking the folders and loading the content inside of them or do you just mean expanding them to show the subfolders underneath? Does this also occur with empty folders or does it require there to be multiple assets inside of it? Since you mention exiting the engine fixes the issue, does this happen after a set amount of time or after opening a certain folder or a certain number of folders? As many details as you can provide would be helpful to look into this.

Apparently my comment didnt go through before. It only happens when it loads items in the folder, usually opening a single folder will drop around 10 frames/per folder. This is for both showing subfolders and content in those folders.

This could be related to the Real-time Thumbnails, can you try opening the “View Options” at the bottom right of the Content Browser and unchecking the “Real-Time Thumbnails” option? This will stop the thumbnails from updating every frame to match what is in the viewport in those particular assets. It’s been reported to be a performance hit for some users.

I will certainly check that out when i open my build next time, and I’ll let you know if it works, thank you.

It works, thanks alot!!!
