UMG animation gets cut

I added an animation to my widget, where the text and a picture should move upwards and fade to invisibility smoothly in five seconds. When I play the animation in the Timeline window in the Editor, it looks as it should, but in the game the animation plays about three seconds and then the widget suddenly disappears from sight without fading through to the end. The Play Animation node is located in the widget’s graph. So any ideas what could be causing this?
