Activating planar reflection completely broke lighting

Hi everyone,

I was working with reflection in my interior scene when I decided to try planar reflection. I followed the documentation, restarted the editor, and when I reopened it I found my lighting like this:

I don’t have direct lighting anymore. I deactivated planar reflection, restarted, nothing changed. If I put a new light, this happens:

If I convert my directional light from stationary to static, even worst:

I really hope there’s a solution, as I’ve been working on the lighting in this scene for a while.

Thanks in advance, and I’ll be happy to provide with more info and screenshot whoever will try to help me if necessary.

Hello hale326,

Would you happen to have a way for me to reproduce this in a new blank project?

What you can try though is deleting your Saved, Intermediate, and Config folders. This might get rid of any sticky .INI settings or rendering settings that are still being referenced.

Be sure to make a copy of these folders within your project’s directory in case it causes unwanted changes and does not resolve the issue.

Thank you,

I resolved by directly copying all my instanced assets into a new project scene. A slightly brutal approach, but it worked.

If you need it for debugging purposes I can try to replicate the bug in a new scene, yes. What would be most helpful to know, and anything I should especially look out for?

No need, if you have resolved the issue then it wouldn’t be of any use to have that project. If you have a way to reproduce it though, then we can work with that.

Oh yes sorry, I meant in a new project!
