Painting foliage not on the persistant level?

Hello,

Our team need to use the persistant level at the same time. We set up a foliage level to paint foliage on, but foliage doesn’t seem to paint anywhere but on the persistant level. Is there any way we can paint foliage on another level?

Cheers

Hi pje -

Make sure that you have actually selected the Level you want to paint in. Here is my example.

Thank You

Hi Eric, thanks for your answer. Unfortunately that doesn’t seem to be the issue. Do we need to have our landscape in the same level as the painted foliage??

Hi pje -

I do not have your landscape, but I did try it again with my own created landscape in another Level and was able to have it paint foliage on the landscape just fine. If you can give me a screenshot of your Levels Window and your landscape in the editor I can try to help you farther, but currently my answer above should solve the issue.

Thank You

Hi Eric, I can’t link to our map. What I can confirm is that for us:

Foliage can only be painted onto the landscape if both the landscape and the foliage being painted are in the same level.

The actual paintbrush bubble doesn’t appear if trying to paint foliage in another level (no matter which one is current).

Really bizarre that it’s not working for us, we’ve just settled for having foliage and landscape in the same level.

Thanks for your help, if I find out why it’s happening I’ll post an update.

Hi pje -

What you say is one hundred percent accurate and working as intended. Foliage can only be painted on an object that share the same level. I thought you were having an issue with painting foliage on a landscape in a non-persistent level.

Thanks

Hello guys!

Is there a way to move foliage to another level after painting? I need to set up level streming for the foliage separately from landscapes

Take a look at this post which can answer your question.
