How Can I escape this endless Crash?

So, this is about the 15th time this has happened to me. You’ll notice lots of reports from me in your system. Here’s the situation: If I open a particular folder in my content browser and then click on just about anything else in the content browser UE4 will crash. I believe this started happening around the time I imported a bunch of new textures to begin testing them in my material. I’m not certain though. If you need me dxdiag or anything else you’re going to have to tell me how to get those logs. I’m not too familiar. Thank you.

look are in you project forder in Saved/Logs, always go there if you got crash and see what is in the bottom, sometimes it might be issue you understand and solve it yourself

Hi Nofear169,

Also, please provide as many of the following as possible:

  1. Your dxdiag (Windows Start Button>(search “dxdiag”)>Launch dxdiag>select “Save all information”>attach text file to your post.)
  2. “UE4.log” Located: Engine\Saved\Logs\
  3. “ProjectName.log” Located: ProjectName\Saved\Logs\

Providing this information and appropriate logs will help us track down and isolate the source of the bug as quickly and efficiently as possible.

Thanks for your cooperation,

.

PS: If this started happening around the time you imported a bunch of new textures… You may want to try right-clicking the Contents folder in the Content Browser and selecting Fix up redirectors in folder. Then, save your project and delete the Saved, Intermediate and Config folders from your Project Folder but ONLY AFTER you make a back up of your Project Folder.

Hey I totally stumbled upon the problem. I deleted the material that my substance designer created. I kept the textures because those were all that I wanted. I did not link them to a new material, which apparently imports from substance designer need for stability. I deleted the textures and reimported. It seems that worked. Thanks for your teams hard work!
