Has anybody successfully installed and run UDK on Azure or AWS?

Recently my laptop, that I used to run UDK, has its graphic card fried. As a result, I am thinking of bringing it to the cloud. If you have tried successfully before, is it possible to do that in these platforms? Can you recommend me a better platform (if you know one already)?

I’ve done this with past projects but I would not recommend it. It would be expensive as the cloud computer needs to have a graphics card. It’s also just a heavy thing to have running.

The lag can be quite annoying as well.

I would suggest saving for a new computer. Realistically, that would be cheaper than paying for something like AWS and remoting in.

The lag would be the connection time when using windows remote to the AWS machine. I’m sure if you pay for the hardware, it’ll run fine on the instance but that still have to travel back to you on your computer.

Does it lag even on the AWS g2.2 graphic dedicated instance with 16 GB gpu?

Oh, OK. My internet download speed is on average 6 MB / s. I guess the AWS will be the temporary solution for now, because I am using it for editing my past projects (not for work or anything serious), and that’s all.

One question: Do you have to install any dedicated graphic driver for the AWS machine you’ve used?
