Help with aimpose looking demented

so i have a aim pose thats lets me move into different stances but when i blend it with idle it goes all weird does anyone know why this is i am using the basic anim bp from the ue4 docs

It could have to do with the additive settings on the pose/animation asset.

Try changing the additive anim type to either local or mesh space and also make sure the “Base Pose Type” is references an idle base pose/animation asset.
