Parallax Occlusion Mapping Issues

Hi! I uh… I have an issue with POM at the moment… Despite having properly followed the tutorial, and I’ve done this before successfully multiple times so I’, mot really sure whats going on, but:

Any and all help is appreciated! Adjusting any and all parameters has proved to not do much in preventing this issue. A similar effect is visible on a plane, but the bottom left square is dark, leaving a small margin on the top and right bright and normal. Adjusting viewing angle does nothing… Different reference planes do not alleviate the effect either.

What is the issue? I don’t see anything strange on screenshot, apart from shadow, where it is not supposed to be. It is caused by pixel depth offset not really working with dynamic shadows.

thank you! Yeah the thing was that the engine was over-doing ambient occlusion on my POM material… I realize this now, and it is fixed. I assumed it was related to the weird shading but apparently not.
