Will volumetric fog work on Mobile renderer ES3_1?

Hi there,

Experimenting with the new preview of Volumetric fog, I have the impression that it looks very different on SM5 compared to ‘high end mobile/metal’, where the particles simply appear as additive overdrawing polygons.

Is this how the feature will be released (SM5 only) or is it planned to have the volumetric fog working on the high end mobile renderer in the final version?

Thanks in advance,

Hi there, volumetric fog is expensive even for PC levels, so at this current time I feel it is unlikely it’ll work for mobile devices. When I was developing for mobile UE4 couldn’t even render atmospheric fog so I doubt volumetric fog will be on its way anytime soon, when they’re still ironing out the pc version.

For UE 4.27, uncheck " Disable vertex fogging in mobile shaders" and you can use volumetric fog on mobile.
