How to troubleshoot a problem actor blueprint

I’ve got a laser beam material that is working perfectly in one level while visibly glitching in another, both levels use the same identical actor blueprint. I tried deleting every item and every level blueprint in the problem level and that still did not solve it. This all started after I activated forward shading and it only occurs in VR, it looks totally normal in PIE. The issue is with a grouping of laser beams that turn off and on, and when they turn on and become visible there is briefly a large amount of noise in the beam and it is very crooked rather than being nice and straight. What can I do before I pull my hair out?
