Crash due to D3D device being lost (4.15.2)

I just updated to 4.15.2 (from 4.15.1) and am now having this problem for the first time ever. I crash randomly within 5 minutes of running the game. I have a gtx1080 and have the latest drivers installed. Very frustrating that I can’t go back to 4.15.1 which worked great for me. (My performance is also significantly worse with sceneCaptures.)

Hey Ian,

You have stated two serious issues. In this post I’m going to focus on the crash, if you haven’t already could you make another Answer Hub post about the performance drop and give the link here?

Regarding the crash please provide the following.

  • The Login/Epic ID and Callstack (This is provided in the crash reporter window that appears after a crash)
  • Log files (You can find this in your project directory > Saved > Logs > [your project name].txt
  • DxDiag ( This can be generated by opening the command prompt and typing DxDiag then hit enter and then when the window appears save all information and provide the text file here)

!

Hey Ed,

for getting back to me. I managed to get rid of the crash by uninstalling and reinstalling Unreal Engine altogether, so you can mark this post at resolved.

.

My performance is still noticeably worse though so I will post that elsewhere.

Thank you for the reply,

I will mark this post as resolved for tracking purposes. Feel free to reopen the post with a comment if you encounter this crash again!
