Performance worse in 4.15.2

I recently upgraded from 4.15.1 to 4.15.2 and my performance is about 25 frames per second worse. I now average 90fps at 3440x1440 in our game with a gtx1080 with 64gb ram and 10 core i76950x, while my partner is averaging 105 fps in the same level with a gtx 1070, 16gb ram, and a 4 core i7 6700k since he is still in 4.15.1. I used to get a steady 120 fps. Is there a way for me to return to 4.15.1? I think the performance may be related to sceneCaptures being more expensive? It seems like that might be it.

If you got github and build UE4 yourself you can simply switch whatever release you desire to use and build it …

Hello Ian Proulx,

I’ve tried testing the two versions myself on a single PC and don’t see any differences in framerate. Is it possible that in the newer version you have a different setting on for Vertical Sync or something that is capping your framerate to 90? As the two computers likely have different software and different processes running, there can be discrepancies between framerate even with the same hardware. I would suggest testing the two builds on the same PC. As mention by , you can get 4.15.1 Source from Github if you would like to do so.

FYI as soon as I updated to 4.15.3 the performance is good again. I think it was the shadow project gpu performance fix. Thanks anyway!
