Imported tree has inappropriate leaf material

I just wanted to import this sample tree from speedtree.

I created the fbx and pulled it into ue4 and it was suspicious right away.

So my problem is that the tree is just fine but the leaf material is messed up. I’m a beginner so i don’t really know what could have gone wrong. How can i fix this?

I can see in your screenshot that you are using SpeedTree Cinema. That tool is meant for VFX customers, and when exporting an FBX, you will lose wind effects, LOD, etc. The textures/materials it exports will not be ready for UE4.

You should instead be using SpeedTree for UE4. It has a streamlined pipeline for use in UE4, and you will keep dynamic wind effects.
