How to make AI movement more interesting?
Im currently making a game that has lots of AIs moving around, attacking player structures and the player. Im having a problem where the player gets 2 or more ai to chase him, they sort of just end up in a straight line, and that doesnt really look too good. So my question is, is there a cheap way to make the AI spread out a bit? Ive tried actually getting the path, and kinda spread out the path nodes a bit, but it feels like a "hacky" way of doing it. I also tried the detour controller, but it seems to be locked at 50 ai at a time.
