Search help

  • Simple searches use one or more words. Separate the words with spaces (cat dog) to search cat,dog or both. Separate the words with plus signs (cat +dog) to search for items that may contain cat but must contain dog.
  • You can further refine your search on the search results page, where you can search by keywords, author, topic. These can be combined with each other. Examples
    • cat dog --matches anything with cat,dog or both
    • cat +dog --searches for cat +dog where dog is a mandatory term
    • cat -dog -- searches for cat excluding any result containing dog
    • [cats] —will restrict your search to results with topic named "cats"
    • [cats] [dogs] —will restrict your search to results with both topics, "cats", and "dogs"

Is there a way to get the height of a material in BP?

I'm trying to follow Handkor's buoyancy tutorial( https://wiki.unrealengine.com/Render_Target_Lookup ) and use that system in combination with the Nvidia Waveworks ocean shader.

The problem is that I can't get the code to run on the custom Waveworks build of 4.15 that I'm running. It might just be that I'm not doing it properly, I have very little C++ knowledge, but I was wondering if there was a way to get the displacement height of a material at every frame in Blueprint rather than C++.

I think not. I never saw any method to get texture color in specified location in BPs, Only in c++ in tutorial you mentioned.

Thanks for the reply. I found that Waveworks does have a "readback displacements" option which could maybe be used for a buoyancy system later on.
