I can't apply a texture in my imported FBX!!

I’m goint to crash my laptop if you don’t help me!! LOL

When I imported a model from 3dsmax, in FBX format, there are some issues with textures, they didn’t look well!!!
But in the UE4’s cubes look goog, What happened? It is a problem with importation/exportation, I made my model in AutoCAD, then imported to 3DS, then exported to FBX, finally imported to UE4 and nothing… Please help me!!!

Sometimes Unreal does that, but waht you can do is simple, you can just go on your Static Mesh

Then in Details Sections you will see Materials and you just changed it in there.

Ok I did it, but the same result. As you can see, the material it’s already applied, but there are no change at all.
:frowning:

Could you show us the UV map of your mesh? It seems to me that the mesh has no UV space, which would explain why it has just a solid color with no texture appearing on it.

OH!!! That’s correct, all of my messhes doesn’t have uv maps!!! What happened? I don’t know why!!! Could you teach me what to do please?

Look , this is it.

Neither in the channel 1 appears it.

I modeled everything in AutoCAD, then imported to 3DS Max, then exported to FBX, finally imported to UE4

So, are you saying that I need to unwrap my models in 3DSMax, and then, export to FBX?

Ok. Ill try it and tomorrow tell you what happened. Thanks!!!

Well, depending on which program you used to create your models, you will need to UV unwrap your model first before exporting to an FBX. Are you new to the asset creation pipeline? Look up UV Unwrapping with wathever 3D modeling program you are using, that should get you going to the right path

Yup, looks like the UV channel is empty. Which 3D modeling program have you been using for those assets?

Yes, then re-import that fbx in your Unreal Engine project and the texture should appear properly. I have little experience with 3DSMax myself but here is a documentation page that should help you:

Ok my friend, I did it as you said. The UV maps appeared now, but when I put materials, the result is the materials doesn’t look good, only fit horizontally, what a mess!!!

Ok it’s done!!! Fix the problem easily!!!
It occurs when I flat mapped in 3ds max the model entirely. That’s not correct, I should have flat the maps separately, and finally works. I appreciate your help!!!
