I’m goint to crash my laptop if you don’t help me!! LOL
When I imported a model from 3dsmax, in FBX format, there are some issues with textures, they didn’t look well!!!
But in the UE4’s cubes look goog, What happened? It is a problem with importation/exportation, I made my model in AutoCAD, then imported to 3DS, then exported to FBX, finally imported to UE4 and nothing… Please help me!!!
Could you show us the UV map of your mesh? It seems to me that the mesh has no UV space, which would explain why it has just a solid color with no texture appearing on it.
Well, depending on which program you used to create your models, you will need to UV unwrap your model first before exporting to an FBX. Are you new to the asset creation pipeline? Look up UV Unwrapping with wathever 3D modeling program you are using, that should get you going to the right path
Yes, then re-import that fbx in your Unreal Engine project and the texture should appear properly. I have little experience with 3DSMax myself but here is a documentation page that should help you:
Ok my friend, I did it as you said. The UV maps appeared now, but when I put materials, the result is the materials doesn’t look good, only fit horizontally, what a mess!!!
Ok it’s done!!! Fix the problem easily!!!
It occurs when I flat mapped in 3ds max the model entirely. That’s not correct, I should have flat the maps separately, and finally works. I appreciate your help!!!
