Save and Load Game

Creating a simple 3D side scroller and wanting to save the game process if the player needs to go AFK or close the game. Then have them load the game from where they left off.

Does 4.16 still require you to create a SaveGame blueprint and create variables for every single thing you want to save? Which means I could have thousands of variables I need saved.

As far as I know ther is no new features for Save/Load procedures (please correct me if I’m wrong).

Personally I’m okay with the system as it is, but a lot of people seems to be bored by it.
There is a plugin in the marketplace to ease the process (Easy Save & Load in Blueprints - UE Marketplace). I never felt the need to use it, but those who are using it seems pretty satisfied.
