Why does engine crash every time I try to launch it?

Every time I open launcher and try to launch engine it crashes.

I am getting crash report client and it says, SIGSEGV: invalid attempt to access memory at address 0x3
how do i get my DXDiag I’m running on a macbook pro
where do I get stuff for last bullet point

I’m sorry to hear that engine is crashing for you. We do require more information to attempt to troubleshoot issue.

  • When engine crashes, are you getting an error message or a report from CrashReporter application? If yes to either, can you copy message you are given?
  • Please attach your system’s DXDiag report so we can identify what hardware you are trying to run engine on.
  • Please also upload upload log generated immediately after a crash that is found here: C:\Program Files\Unreal Engine\4.#\Engine\Programs\CrashReportClient\Saved\Logs

You can place your files inside a . or .rar and attach them to a post here.

Have you been able to run engine from launcher before? When did this start happening? What version of engine are you trying to launch?

You can find Mac system information by going to Apple menu, then About This Mac > More Info. We need all information there (except for your Serial Number).

On a Mac, logs are located in: /Users/UserName/Library/Logs/Unreal Engine/(project name)Editor/ Library Folder is hidden by default. easiest way to get to it is by having finder active application and while holding Option Click Go in Mac Menu Bar. This will expose Library.

I have not able to run launcher before. this is my first time with launcher.
processor: 2.3 GHz Intel Core i7
memory: 4GB 1600 MHz DDR3
graphics: NIVIDA GeForce GT 650M 512MB
Software: OS X 10.9.2 (13C64)

Where is users folder?

I can’t find go in mac menu bar

Users folder is on your Macintosh HD. Go menu is in menu bar when you have Finder selected. It’s to right of Apple menu. Make sure you’re holding down Option key when you click it.

how do I give you log because when I put it as an attachment it says that file type is invalid.

You can save it as a .txt file, or you can it and attach . file.

in windows, i use “winrar” software. Try to download it in winzip.com
