Problem with duplicating staticmesh

Me and my project group are working on a school project.
Right now halfway through the project my level designer suddenly has problems with duplicating staticmeshes. Either through using alt + dragging or ctrl + W. Both ways result in the static mesh transform being reset to location(0, 0, 0), rotation(0,0,0), scale(1, 1, 1).
However he is the only one with the problem out of 4 people. Still because he is our main level designer the process slows down big time.
Things he has tried to fix it:

  • Pull the project fresh from source repository
  • Reinstall Unreal engine 4.15

Both these options do not help in any way.
