Search help

  • Simple searches use one or more words. Separate the words with spaces (cat dog) to search cat,dog or both. Separate the words with plus signs (cat +dog) to search for items that may contain cat but must contain dog.
  • You can further refine your search on the search results page, where you can search by keywords, author, topic. These can be combined with each other. Examples
    • cat dog --matches anything with cat,dog or both
    • cat +dog --searches for cat +dog where dog is a mandatory term
    • cat -dog -- searches for cat excluding any result containing dog
    • [cats] —will restrict your search to results with topic named "cats"
    • [cats] [dogs] —will restrict your search to results with both topics, "cats", and "dogs"

How do I use a subtractive geometry brush?

Hi,

I'm a beginner on UE4.2 and I don't know how to have a element 'subtraction' when I try to follow the UE4 video tutorial 'Create a level 2'. Anybody has a hint?

Thanks a lot,

widorisan

Hey widorisan,

To use a Subtractive geometry brush, you only need to switch the Brush Type in the Details panel while the brush is selected. If you position the Subtractive Brush inside an Additive Brush, it will subtract the area from the Additive Brush.

Didn't work for me. Has it changed in UE4.12?

Keep in mind that this will only work with BSPs, which are placed in the Geometry section of the Modes tab. If you are using a static mesh, this will not work.

I found that, you need to place your FILL objects first , then add the substraction brush (box, cilinder, etc) . If you add another new FILL box, it will NOT be substracted with the previously added substraction brush.

From official doc > ... "... from previously created additive Brushes."
