Can I place the pivot where I want?

In UDK I could right click and click place pivot here, or something like that and save it to pre-pivot, I cant do that in 4.2.1, I absolutely need to do it i cant see what I’m doing D: The option just will not come up. I click on a mesh, right click and I cant find it? has it not been implemented am I doing something wrong?

Hi Chay Hawk,

This functionality is currently not in UE4. This has been submitted previously as a feature request.

Currently, using the perspective viewport you can middle-mouse click on the white pivot and move it in the mesh where you would like. This will not save its position though. When you click away it will shift back to its original position.

Thank you!

Tim

Tim please lets get this fixed. I’m having alot of trouble because this feature is not available, ive tried everything and nothing seems to work

It would be a rally handy thing to have. As far as I know the only way to go about it is to export your mesh into a 3d editing program like Maya and adjust it there. I’ve never done any 3d modelling before so I don’t know how this is done. Maybe you could download Blender and give it a try, or maybe somebody here could walk you through the process?

@Leog4:

That’s up to the developer assigned the task to implement and get the feature in the engine. Currently this feature request in backlogged. It will be revisited at some point in the future, but there is no timeline for when this will happen.

For reference the ticket number is UE-945.
