Description
BSP Brush edges are difficult to Select and Edit and Workflow can slow down.

Repro Steps
Select a BSP box

Change the View Mode to Brush Wireframe

Results
Often it is a hit-or-miss situation and there is no way to create a “ring-array” selection from an edge.

This becomes increasingly difficult as the BSP is undergoing development, so it may not be apparent with regards to a simple box.

Additionally there is no way to use a simple Command like “Connect Edges”

Expected
An Edge Edit Mode exists in the BSP Toolbox and the mode supports a few basic functions.

A function exists that allows ring selections from an edge selection

A function exists called “Connect” instead of “Split”. This is a more contemporary and intuitive term. The function connects all edges in the ring selection.

The functions work as described above.

This will speed workflow.

For example, in 3ds max, this can be done using a Quad-Menu and keyboard shortcuts. It is often a FLOW-based workflow.

Hi David,

There is a Split function in the BSP editor “Edit Brush” mode that will create a new loop in the center of the selected edge as if a ring was selected. I have created a request for “Edit Brush Selection Modes” that would let you select exclusively faces, edges or vertices. If there is anything else that you would like to see in the editor, please let us know.

Thank you,

Alexander

Has this function been added yet? Because it’s 2019, I can’t find it anywhere. It’s really hard to select those ■■■■ edges on the bsp. Kinda frustrating that it has past 5 years and that issue wasn’t addressed.
