'Name already exists' message when choosing Save As.

Every time I try to save as over an existing file name this message peers:
A package with that name already exists. Please choose another name.

Hi Roy,

Is the image below what you’re seeing?

If so, this is normal functionality. Anytime you start to save over another project it will ask if you want to replace that one.

If I’m mistaken and you are talking about something completely different can you elaborate on your issue.

Is this happening with the UE4 editor or the Launcher/Marketplace?
Can you post images for clarification?

Thank you!

Tim

Actually I’m getting a similar error when trying to save my level sequentially. I’m trying to save as “Forest02” (already had one by that name) and it says a level with that name already exists.

I even quit UE4, deleted the umap file and reloaded and it still gives me the same error.

This one is the image.

Tim Hobson, sorry for the time but the image from TorQueMod is what appers to me.

I’ve have not been able to get this particular error message.

Can you provide detailed repro steps to create this?

Also, is it happening in a new project or just the one you are working from?

Can you also tell me which version of the engine you are getting this to happen? I’ve been using our latest release of 4.3.

Thank you!

It happen with an existing file like lets say I have two tween files, and when just saving on the same file when save-as is choose it appears.

I’ve submitted a bug report for this (TTP: 343911) to have this looked at. However, there is no timeline for when this will be fixed and implemented into the engine.

Thank you!

Tim
