Search help

  • Simple searches use one or more words. Separate the words with spaces (cat dog) to search cat,dog or both. Separate the words with plus signs (cat +dog) to search for items that may contain cat but must contain dog.
  • You can further refine your search on the search results page, where you can search by keywords, author, topic. These can be combined with each other. Examples
    • cat dog --matches anything with cat,dog or both
    • cat +dog --searches for cat +dog where dog is a mandatory term
    • cat -dog -- searches for cat excluding any result containing dog
    • [cats] —will restrict your search to results with topic named "cats"
    • [cats] [dogs] —will restrict your search to results with both topics, "cats", and "dogs"

Why do I get the error "Naming Conflict Target list was empty..." with Maya ART?

I got too many times that error

Naming Conflict Target list was empty or contained no valid targets. . Aborting Operation. Please Correct naming conflict and try again.

doing or without doing something,

with defaults sometimes got error other times no. Create Character Set -> Skeleton Placement (default) -> Deformation Setup (Default) and then got the error.

Hey there! Do any objects in your scene have a namespace? I've seen that error (native maya error, not from the tool) get thrown up when that is the case. It could also be that you have an object that is the same name as a bone that is trying to be created (like head for example). If the objects in your scene are geometry, sometimes I like to prefix them all with geo_ just to avoid that.

nope i check. i not remember how can avoid the error, i think if i remember rights sometimes work sometimes give the error with the same character, and i think that how can i avoid that error.... trying and trying lol

Anyway few weeks laters when i begin with another character works without problem and never appeared again and i use ART frequently ( more this days since you configure for save the files in "Program files" and lost all when delete 4.3 :P )

( other error was when i try 1 leaf join and get always a error (lost few hours figuring i need 2 leaf join for avoid that error but i not remember the error message) .

i think that thread can be closed.

some geometry or any objects have same name (example- body , leg, head), you need change names and ART be working

or maybe materials called like body and other, only need new names of materials or geometry
