[BUG] Lighting turning Pitch Black

I have a few static meshes that are supposed to be cave modules.

So I can put together a cave from different modules.
I placed them in the Rocket Editor and that went fine. Now I tried to put lights in them and they lit up but after building everything on the level they go completely dark and the static meshes are not lit up any more.

It doesn’t matter what lights I use or how I set the properties. They always come out pitch-black after building.

Before I build lights:

After building lights:

The procedure was simple:

  1. Make a simple mesh in Blender.
  2. Convert from .blend to .fbx
  3. Import the model to the UE4
  4. Place in the scene.
  5. Build Geometry and Shadows.
  6. Place lights.
  7. Build Lights and Geometry.

The lights now go from lit to pitch black.

Did you create a second UV channel for your mesh? This might not be an issue however, is two sided lighting turned on?

How do I do that?

I answered on the forum.

Okay, will have a look.

Ive had this happen when my lightmap uv’s were not correct. (missing or resolution set too low)
