How do I move the vault location

With the new launcher all the marketplace downloads are now stored on the main drive. I no longer have the option to install these downloads to another location. My primary drive is an SSD with limited space so would like to be able to move it to my 2nd drive. Is there a way to move it to another location or allow the path to be configured myself?

Mac OSX 10.9.x

NOTE: Prior to the new launcher we had the ability to specify a folder. Since then that feature is missing and all the marketplace content has to be re-downloaded again.

I have solved my own question. I solved the issue by copying the ~/Users/Shared/UnrealEngine/Launcher folder to my 2nd drive in the path of my choosing, renaming the existing launcher folder and then creating a symbolic link to point the above path to the location on my 2nd drive. command: ln -s {2nd drive path} Do this from the ~/Users/Shared/UnrealEngine folder

If the option were added to the launcher to modify this path in the future, it would be easier for users to change the location of the files.

I have the same problem but I use Windows. It will be good if path and download speed settings will be added.

try far manager ALT+F6 → link type [symbolic link folder]
i’d move+link VaultCache and Unreal Projects folders

There is also a solution for windows using symbolic links via mklink here

You can now pick the location for your vault cache inside the Epic Games Launcher.

  • Click the cog in the top-right corner of the launcher
  • Click on “Manage Vault Cache”
  • Click browse, choose your location and restart the Epic Games Launcher
