Whenever i try to create a blank c++ template it always says there is an issue and whenver i try to add code to my project it keeps saying i have to recompile the project for it to work

Whenever i try to create a blank c++ template it always says there it cannot compile. Then it ask if i want to open it in visual studios, but then it says it can’t connect( “Could not edit the code editing IDE. C:/Users/Michael Turner/Documents/Unreal Projects/MyProject/MyProject.sln could not be found.”. and also whenver i try to add code to my project it says their was a compiling problem and for it to work I have to recompile the project. help plz
