Bug:
Since 4.14/4.15, while navigation is generating, audio is delayed by 1-2 seconds (based on audio size) and landscape grass takes extremely long to be displayed on a landscape.
Evidence + Reproduction:
These clips show it in the editor for ease, but it also happens in game due to dynamic navigation rebuilding everytime a streaming level is loaded.
- Sound delay during naviation building (it only appeared to work in PIE because the navigation paused during play)
- Landscape grass generation delayed during navigation building (it takes much longer in game and on bigger fields)
Notes:
When using streaming levels, navigation has to be dynamically generated when levels are streamed. This means grass is constantly not displaying, music is always delayed. This includes switching songs, and even walking near Audio zones (Ex: a river sound), where nothing would happen, and then the audio would jarringly cut in at full volume, because you were already in the center of the zone. This visually and audibly ruins any game using streaming levels.
Also, this is a brand new i7 SSD (etc) PC and these issues did not exist prior to 4.14/4.15, so it’s not a slow hardware problem.
