Search help

  • Simple searches use one or more words. Separate the words with spaces (cat dog) to search cat,dog or both. Separate the words with plus signs (cat +dog) to search for items that may contain cat but must contain dog.
  • You can further refine your search on the search results page, where you can search by keywords, author, topic. These can be combined with each other. Examples
    • cat dog --matches anything with cat,dog or both
    • cat +dog --searches for cat +dog where dog is a mandatory term
    • cat -dog -- searches for cat excluding any result containing dog
    • [cats] —will restrict your search to results with topic named "cats"
    • [cats] [dogs] —will restrict your search to results with both topics, "cats", and "dogs"

Vertex Colors show acne on macOS v4.16.2

Using the Vertex Colour node in a material seems to be not playing nice in 4.16.2 this is on new meshes and meshes that were OK in 4.16.1 and 4.15.

Looks like shadow acne problems.

This is on

iMac (Retina 5K, 27-inch, Late 2015) AMD Radeon R9 M390 2048 MB

macOS 10.12.6

As a side note there are a few graphical issues in the 5k iMac when running UE4.

Hey Anadin,

I just downloaded your .FBX and created a test project on my end and did not get the flickering that you are reporting. I did test on a fairly different Mac, so that could very well be the culprit.

Specs: OS: macOS Sierra 10.12.6 CPU: 2.3 GHz Intel Core i7 GPU: Nvidia GeForce GT 750M Memory: 16 GB 1600 MHZ DDR3

The graphical issues you mention, are these reported already or is this something you have just experienced when working with the 5k iMac?

Hi Andrew, they are only happening on this model.

iMac (Retina 5K, 27-inch, Late 2015) 3.2 GHz Intel Core i5 24 GB 1867 MHz DDR3 AMD Radeon R9 M390 2048 MB

I'm using one step down from highest scaling which may have something to do with it.

I totally forgot to check on my iMac at home with is a 2012 non retina similar to the one you tested on.

Issues I see (with editor or even just the launcher open) are things like flickering rectangles in other apps e.g. open Safari, open the ref sidebar (reading list/bookmarks etc.) and I'll get half of it flickering - literally on and off - I can see apps behind it.

This also happens on the side bar of Cornerstone (SVN client) and a few other apps here and there.

The vertex colour problem did not happen with 4.15 or 4.16.1 for me. I'll keep testing see if I can find anything else relevant.

Another iMac same problem, this is different model but again only has vertex colours on it.

Tried adding/removing UV maps (just in case) no change

And unfortunately seeing it in 4.15 too, I think this is not a vertex colour specific problem but more likely 10.12.6 current version (its the latest dev beta which looks like it might be the release candidate)

This all seems fixed in 4.17.preview 1 so all good.
