Can we use Quality Switch and Feature Level Switch with Texture Object 2D?

Hello,

In material functions, I can successfully use quality switches and feature level switches on texture samples but the same statement doesn’t hold true when applied to texture object 2D. I didn’t find appropriate answers to this question on the forum or the hub. Here is a snapshot of the material function:

Note this setup works just fine for texture samples. What is wrong with this?
