Best Way to Make Character Drive Vehicle?

Hello, I want the character to be able to drive a vehicle by opening the door and entering. There are two ways I can think of to do that. 1-) To combine both character and car armatures in blender, when player gets near the car in Ue4, character possesses the combined armature. (Can this work?)
2-) to create seperate animations for both car and character and match them in ue4. Which way is better? Or is there any other alternatives? I really apperaciate an answer.

I would probably use 2 blueprints, car and character. Character can use an animation to get into the car and when he is in sitting animation just attach him to the car and possess the car. Like that you got more control than your combining setup, you can shoot out of the window, turn left and right which is a pain if you combine car and character. If he leaves the car, possess the character again, detach him, play get out of car animation. <3
