Updating From 4.15 to 4.16 Broke Particle Lighting

I recently updated my project from 4.15 to 4.16. I didn’t see any errors but the starter content P_Fire no longer produces light for me in 4.16. i’ve tinkered around with it in one of my projects and i can get it to produce a steady light (like a point light), but not the flickering that it used to do. Any ideas?

issue is also present in project with update to 4.17.

i’ve gone ahead and added a flickering dynamic light to each fire source but it’s killing my frame rate. it’ll work for what i need but i would prefer something better.

In some places of the level they are almost invisible, in others they are normal. When you move the camera they flicker a lot, very weird behavior! (4.16.3)

are you using default particles or custom ones? i’ve since updated the project to 4.17.current and the issue is still present.

Default ones slightly modified, I think they are from particles demo if I remember correctly!

In a brand new 4.17 project with starter content the dynamic lighting from the fire seems to work again but it’s very subdued and takes a long time to build up. it does however flicker.
