Unreal crashed and now my project load crashed the engine

Hi,

Please help!!!

Ive spend close to 20hrs making a game on unreal engine, i frequently save my progress, however i experienced my first unreal crash.
just before this happened i noticed a lake i placed down a few hours prior was acting strange. it was only visible from one direction? so i tried clicking the water plane to delete it and import a new one but it wasnt clickable.

So i carried on with my base texture, then. CRASH!.

i thought no big deal, so i reloaded. it gets to around 95%then says “An unreal process has crashed”

Idont know how to restore to a previous state? please help!


UPDATE

Ive changed the editor to 4.16.2

This allows my project to load and i immediately deleted the lake water.

I hope this will completely solve the issue i was having , still i would appreciate if someone could help me look into the original issue to confirm this was the fault?
