Search help

  • Simple searches use one or more words. Separate the words with spaces (cat dog) to search cat,dog or both. Separate the words with plus signs (cat +dog) to search for items that may contain cat but must contain dog.
  • You can further refine your search on the search results page, where you can search by keywords, author, topic. These can be combined with each other. Examples
    • cat dog --matches anything with cat,dog or both
    • cat +dog --searches for cat +dog where dog is a mandatory term
    • cat -dog -- searches for cat excluding any result containing dog
    • [cats] —will restrict your search to results with topic named "cats"
    • [cats] [dogs] —will restrict your search to results with both topics, "cats", and "dogs"

Procedural material + grass tool

so ive been playing with grass tool, its awesome time saver and you get good detail for the grass.. its working fine with layers, ive been trying to add this to procedural material without success.

ive tried to make layers, connecting grass straight to textures, alphas, multiplying it with different stuff, no luck. what should i do with grass node? are layers must?

ok i managed to do something by combining couple tutorials..

landscape with sand,grass, 2 different rock materials. grass tool is set to angles and starting from world location 6450+, so theres no foliage underwater and limit is near sand. alt text

full material setup: no layers, which is problem. physical materials can be added only in layers. painting paths is not possible with this setup, well its possible to add it but painting path doesnt remove foliage, i need to add layers so i can hook grass tool into grass layer, then i can get different footsteps and painting paths correctly alt text

no any clue how to add layers been trying lot of different stuff, i got a feeling this is not the way to do material like this... lerps and layers are just not working together well.. dunno. if theres someone who could help that would be cool.

ok i finally found the solution.. i kept around 1-2 week break, opened editor and solved this like in under 5minutes. sometimes you just have to have a little break! :D

so you can now paint paths and the grass will appear only on grass texture.

full material setup, adding layers and just little simple math and it will work! alt text
