Search help

  • Simple searches use one or more words. Separate the words with spaces (cat dog) to search cat,dog or both. Separate the words with plus signs (cat +dog) to search for items that may contain cat but must contain dog.
  • You can further refine your search on the search results page, where you can search by keywords, author, topic. These can be combined with each other. Examples
    • cat dog --matches anything with cat,dog or both
    • cat +dog --searches for cat +dog where dog is a mandatory term
    • cat -dog -- searches for cat excluding any result containing dog
    • [cats] —will restrict your search to results with topic named "cats"
    • [cats] [dogs] —will restrict your search to results with both topics, "cats", and "dogs"

Hi Alx0427,

This is building the lighting for all the levels that are within this map. Not the entirety of the game.

If you go to Window in the menu bar (top left) > Open Levels >

Here you will see a display of the persistent and all streaming levels.

As a side note, anything in the persistent level such as shadows or lights will get baked into all the other levels.

When the build is taking place it is using all these levels when it's being built.

If you look at the Strategy game and Vehicle game you can see how Epic has used Level streaming like this as a way to organize and handle effects and lighting.

Thank you!

Tim

Hope this helps :)

Remove any lights from the persistent level
Put all lighting that will affect each sub-level in its own sub-level
Put each sky sphere in its own level Open each sublevel map (from the content browser) In each one, add the proper light level and sky level as a sub-level Build each map and save The baked lighting will show up on "Main" for each sub level. You won't need to have any light sub-levels in "Main" level (must test and decide whether or not to remove)

u could probably just open up the sub level alone... not through the persistant level. Thats what i do for light build testing at the very least... so i dont get lighting from other sublevels.
