Combing two static meshes permanently VR

Im using VR to pickup one cone and attach its point to another cone’s point. What I want is to then be able to grab the combined object anywhere and manipulate it. The problem is this one works if I grab one cone, if I grab the other it pulls it off and then causes other issue. Is there a way to stop me from ripping off the cone from the group while still being able to move the combined object if I grab that cone?
