Lightning a small fully movable house with movable lights?

Hey guys.
So in my test project, i’m trying to achieve the best possible light with movable lights, materials changing and movable furniture (only walls, ceiling and floor are static). I’m using a movable directional light with ray cast enable, skylight with little intensity and the auto-exposure already tweaked. In the first image, the Skylight is set to not cast any shadows, while the second one the Skylight has this checked and I have no clue why this is happening. I’m also trying to find the best way to simulate light through the windows (not only sunlight). For now i’m using a spotlight pointed at the window (read that bouncing cards are not that good).

Questions:

1 - Any reason for my scene gets so dark when skylight is set to cast shadow? What can I do about it?

2 - Any tips on how to make the light through the window more realistic and like, without that double shadow (directional light + spotlight?)
