Get hit results under cursor by channel not working with painted trees

Can you post a screenshot of your trace.

so i have gone through the whole process of checking all my trees to see if they where set correctly my collision is set to ignore both cam and visibility channels. i even turned off the has nav mesh data just to see if that would work. but every time i click on the tree the ray cast hits the tree and not the terrain…

my trees are set up with

  1. Visibility set to ignored (tried both with and with out)
  2. no nav mesh data (tried both with and with out)

only way to get this to work it looks like is to turn collision off completely with them but i do not want to do that since i ofc do not want them walking through the trees. any one have any ideas on how to fix this please do tell.

look at the top down controller its all stock.
