Super strange issue but here goes:
I have Epic Games Launcher installed both on a MacbookPro and my workstation PC. The macbookpro, using the same wifi connection as my workstation, downloaded the UE4.6.1 via the launcher @ 5mbps->15mbps. I have a 200mbps connection.
The windows 10 pro workstation however, is receiving data @ only 5kbps - 18kbps. Im sure there is some specific setting which is causing this on the workstation.
Things I’ve tried but have failed to remedy the issue, each time i executed the EpicLauncher, i have done so “As Administrator” as well in order to provide it with elevated permissions:
- Disabling inbound fire wall @ the workstation
- Disabling inbound firewall @ the router (the macbookpro experience proofs this out already, but i did it just as part of the process anyway)
- Disabling “real time protection” in Windows Defender
- Disabling any other background process that is or may be utilizing a network connection.
- Ookla Speed Test for both the macbook and the PC register ~ 178mbps down and 35mbps up via their browser tester.
the PC is no more shielded from the WAN than the macbookpro is - both are simply connecting to the same residential 200mbps broadband connection via wifi.
Im convinced there is some setting in Windows 10 pro I am not familiar with that is causing this issue. Any suggestions are welcome, thank you in advance.
