Search help

  • Simple searches use one or more words. Separate the words with spaces (cat dog) to search cat,dog or both. Separate the words with plus signs (cat +dog) to search for items that may contain cat but must contain dog.
  • You can further refine your search on the search results page, where you can search by keywords, author, topic. These can be combined with each other. Examples
    • cat dog --matches anything with cat,dog or both
    • cat +dog --searches for cat +dog where dog is a mandatory term
    • cat -dog -- searches for cat excluding any result containing dog
    • [cats] —will restrict your search to results with topic named "cats"
    • [cats] [dogs] —will restrict your search to results with both topics, "cats", and "dogs"

What CPU to get for faster light build ?

I read the building light uses CPU and RAM and I currently have 32GB RAM and intel i5 4670k CPU so should I go for intel i7 CPU or get AMD Ryzen 5 1600X with 12 threads so I can build light faster ?

Hello MorningStar

Yes better CPU's calculate lighting faster. But the calcuIation time can change with different scenes and different lighting setups and number of CPU cores and GHz too as i know. If you are working with heavy scenes (many objects, big lightmaps, incredible heavy light setups, etc.) and you want fast result no matter what, i think you need to upgrade your CPU. I have i7 4930K (i know its old) but it does really good job with my cursed heavy scene. Hope this helps.

Thank you.
