Augmented Reality

Apple AR Kit is currently the supported AR platform and canot be found here: Early Access for ARKit for iOS available now on GitHub - XR Development - Unreal Engine Forums

Hi guys,

I am going to ask what you probably heard a million times lately: when will we get an AR API? Or will we get one? Or is it already one out there?

I’ve read the article about WWDC, congrats! It seems that the “heavies” are finally gonna rock on! I can hardly wait to see what the rest of 2017 brings in VR/AR.

However, right now if I would want to make an app that uses AR/camera target/object tracking I would have to use probably Unity, which sucks because I got used to Unreal Engine, and now it seems like any other engine simply does not deliver good graphics. Not like UE, anyway. So, are we gonna get some AR stuff and documentation soon? Any chances?

P.S. I went to AWE in Santa Clara about a month ago and I kept hoping that you guys would have been a surprise guest, but no Epic Games :frowning: The expo would have been way better with you around

Thanks aussieburger, that looks like an awesome place to start looking/reading.

Cheers!
