How to take a multi-object character from cinema 4d import it and animate it

I am very new to game making. My friend is the coder and I make the models and basically put it all together. I mostly use c4d for modeling as our “game” is low poly and I know c4d very well. (learning 3ds and other) I have searched and searched but I can’t find what I think should be simple. Maybe I’m missing something. I have a character: Screenshot by Lightshot and he is made of 6 objects. The head, body, 2 arms, and 2 legs. They also have there own bones as you can see. I have animated a walk cycle and when I export it as an .fbx it says its working but when I import that .fbx it comes up as multiple objects and I have no idea what to do with it after that.
Thanks for your help -Sky

Are the assets that get imported static meshes? I am thinking maybe you have just parented the objects to the joints and not done a proper bind. If that is the case then you need to actually bind the parts to the skeleton and reexport.

Well if your asking if the bones are binded properly then they are because I can animate it in c4d but my problem is that he is made of 6 different shapes and 6 different bones for example the right arm bone is binded only to that part of the character otherwise I get a strange unwanted morphing :frowning: maybe you could help me out through skype or something?
thanks for the answer tho.

What type of objects are actually being imported into UE4? Are they listed as Static meshes or Skeletal meshes?

Yea I got it thanks! Turns out I had to re rig it. On to my next question! Can any one help with making a planet much like planetary annihilation with procedurally generated terain and physics.

Yea thanks it’s ok I got it. Know anything about physics? I need to make a world a character can walk on.
