Fatal error: [File:D:\Build\++UE4+Release-4.14+Compile\Sync\Engine\Source\Runtime\Windows\D3D11RHI\Private\D3D11Util.cpp] [Line: 176] Unreal Engine is exiting due to D3D device being lost. (Error: 0x887A0020 - 'INTERNAL_ERROR')

Whenever I hover over any icon, I’m hit with this error and UE4 crashes. If I’m quick enough I am able to do the action by the icon by clicking the icon real fast and then moving my mouse away from it.I tried googling but none of the responses had a proper workaround or a solution(The real time thumbnails didn’t work too).It crashes only when I hover an object though. If I don’t place my mouse anywhere near those objects UE4 works just fine. Also, this happens randomly. The crash occurs 9 out of 10 times.

Also attached is the crash report.

PS: I can add new objects if I am quick and do not hover over the object too long i.e I select the object and place it within a second.

I am also having this problem. my laptop is 1060 nvidia gtx graphics.

Actually… this crash does not happen when my laptop is plugged-in. it only happens when it runs on battery.

if you are using laptop… try the unreal engine when ur laptop is connected to charger. check whether it crashes.

your question is one year old. But i am responding to it. Let me know if you have solved the issue.
