Animation Blueprint Blend Multi Node Not Increasing Pins

I’m not exactly sure how the Blend Multi node works, but this seems like there might be a bug. When I press the plus symbol in the node Details Panel to add more “Desired Alphas”, the number of elements increases in the Detail panel, but nothing physically happens to the node itself. Should it be increasing the number of input pins for Poses and Desired Alpha float values?

Also:

When pressing Reset to Default arrow in the Details panel it resets to zero elements, instead of the original 2 element slots.

When pressing the checkbox to hide pins, then rechecking the box, the Pose inputs are all gone, but the number of Desired Alpha input pins displayed in the node are equal to the number elements added from the Details Panel.

I am using Version 4.16.2
Problem has been replicated in a blank project

Still a problem in 4.18.3.

Would be good to get some feedback. I guess nobody on the planet earth is blending more than 2 animations at a time.

This parameter are not for encreasing an animations pins count, it’s for the alpha pins count. To show the result you should refresh it - just put in and out the “show pins” check in Desired Alphas checkbox.

Hi there. It’s been a while since I posted here, but I came across the same issue as you did. What you have to do is right-click the node and the option will be there. It’s very counter-intuitive and it may be a bug, but it works anyways.

yep. Because the programmer is too lazy to make a “+” button that will add both the Poses pin and the Alpha pin. I believe he does nothing with animations and imagines tons of blend values with no actual poses or visa versa… But yes Counter-intuitive is a compliment.

So why is there a possibility of using a different alpha and pose pins count? Is it a bug?

It might be. It still worked as intended doing it this way though.

Thanks very much for replying NobelT34M! The method you provided works, so I’ll mark it as answered, but for anyone reading this, the issue still persists when it is adjusted in the Details Panel.
