Best GPU for a large arch-viz project?

I would stick with the 11GB 1080Ti. If you can get your workstations to connect over swarm you’ll be golden. It’s not hard to do. I did it with 2 laptops and its a lot of power, so if you connect swarm over several workstations it should get even the craziest of light builds done quite quick. the GPU is only part of the puzzle though, you need some powerful processors to carry the load. Without going into much detail, some stuff UE throws onto the CPU others on the GPU. If you’re doing VR put your money on the GPU, if not then what you have should be more than enough. Also try to utilize LODs. I’m doing Archviz too and i have to keep adjusting those to get some pressure off of the cpu/gpu. Also, try to bake your lighting, dynamic lighting is great but it gets heavy with a lot of meshes to consider.

SLI support has been added since 4.15:

i retract my comment then

Hello,

We’re in the process of creating a large arch-viz project, which consists of thousands and thousands of homes, trees, etc. We just want to know, with so much to be rendered at once from a high-altitude, what is the best GPU to go with? We currently are using GTX 1080Ti… Does Unreal support SLI?

Do Quadro cards provide a better performance for real-time applications?

Thanks.

Very interesting. If I understand the release notes correctly, does that mean that AFR is not enabled by default and I need to contact Nvidia to get it to work?

thanks for the insight! much appreciated.
