Face FX Support

Is Face FX going to make it into UE4? If not is there a recommend alternative for complex facial animations? Or is there something in UE4 that I am just not seeing that will do the same thing?

At this time there are no plans to integrate FaceFX.

We do support Morph Targets (Blend Shapes, if you’re a Maya person), however, and they can be imported along with animation (FBX) as part of an AnimSequence. This means you can use a 3D content tool to create your facial animation and import it, but currently there are no direct facial animation solutions within UE4.

Is there a reason why Epic decided to not include this in UE4? It seams like a step backwards instead of forwards.

We are focused on supporting features integral to development, and feel that the workflow outlined above by Zak is an efficient means to accomplish those tasks without additional 3rd party software.
