RayFire Use

Hi,

If I wanted to use RayFire destruction in UE4, would I have to use it as an animation for a certain event or something else? Or is it not able to be used at all in UE4.

You would have to either:

  1. Use it a a fracture tool then export to UE4 and symulate

  2. Symulate in 3ds max and bake the animation and export it and treat it as an animation but that would make kill the “dynamic” part of the destruction (means that it will not be resymulated dynamicly in UE4)

  3. dont use it at all. UE4 has it’s own fracture capabilities. All you need is a mesh, fracture it in UE4 or already import fractured one, set some options inside UE4, run the symulation in editor

And yes i played with RayFire too. It is just using build in MassFX capabilities that are in 3ds max and provide some fracturing options. Nothing that you cant get for free with a fracture script and using build in options.
Also it is not “RayFire Destruction” but simply using MassFX’s PhysX capabilities in 3ds Max
