Search help

  • Simple searches use one or more words. Separate the words with spaces (cat dog) to search cat,dog or both. Separate the words with plus signs (cat +dog) to search for items that may contain cat but must contain dog.
  • You can further refine your search on the search results page, where you can search by keywords, author, topic. These can be combined with each other. Examples
    • cat dog --matches anything with cat,dog or both
    • cat +dog --searches for cat +dog where dog is a mandatory term
    • cat -dog -- searches for cat excluding any result containing dog
    • [cats] —will restrict your search to results with topic named "cats"
    • [cats] [dogs] —will restrict your search to results with both topics, "cats", and "dogs"

Can i use a tutorial for a project (comercial use)?

Hi there :D I just downloaded a "reflection-tutorial-project" for UE4 and was wondering if I can use objects,mashes,testures.... from it for a commercial project. It is the one that looks like a underground trainstation. Thank you in advance, Max

Check the folder that this came in, read the readme or license file. That will tell you if you are able to use in commercial use.

If you can't find a provided file, then you cannot use these. The default state of any creators work is copyrighted, unless stated otherwise.

If you're trying to sell something it should be a creation of your imagination. Don't try to asset flip your way into some quick cash, this practice is ruining the Indie Game Industry.

Thanks for your quick response! If it is not allowed to use parts of this tutuorial for a commercial project, I will have to do some objects my self. BTW is there a way to create a singel complex object in UE4 or do I have to use Blender for every single one? I fetched the files for a "readme" but found non :( I just found https://answers.unrealengine.com/questions/598451/i-would-like-to-ask-if-the-projects-under-the-lear.html which also deals with the same topic!

  • "If you're trying to sell something it should be a creation of your imagination. Don't try to asset flip your way into some quick cash, this practice is ruining the Indie Game Industry. " - Well I am just trying to release my project early, because I already put a lot of effort into it and it might help not to create every single object on my own. Of cource I WON´T copy the whole project and sell it as my own creation. And I am not interested in quick cash, it is just a lot of work and time that i want to be recognized and paid (a little) for. By using about 3 meshes and their textures I could save some hours for creating the extact same ones on my own. They just fit perfectly into my current project and are kinda necessary.

Thank you in advance, Max
