FPS difference between machines, same GPU

Hi,

I’m working on a project, and have just bought a new laptop to be able to work on the move. We have a level template that we use to duplicate as the start point for making most of our levels (including a fairly complex landscape material, lighting and post-processing settings, render objects etc.).

When running the level (in the editor) on the desktop, we get a stable 70 fps, but when running on the laptop we only get 8 fps. I’ve spent the last 3 days trying to track down the difference in fps, but have hit a brick wall, any help in what it can be would be great:

Both pc specs are fairly similar (both have a GTX1060 - desktop 6GB version/laptop 3GB version, 16GB/8GB RAM, i7-6700K@4.20GHz / i7-7700HQ@2.8GHz cpu) - have attached full specs and performance comparison in text file (can’t format spacing here).

I’ve made sure the laptop is using the GTX gpu in the NVidia control panel (settings attached). Have also tried disabling all of the hardware driver applications: MSI Dragon Centre, MSI True Color, Nahimic 2 - as someone posted their Nahimic driver had caused a big fps drop.

In the editor, I also tried not showing certain elements of the map (Viewport > Show > Landscape /Foliage /Transluceny), but to no major effect. I ran “stat gpu” to get some more ideas and there’s a big difference between the 2 platforms (see text file) with desktop / laptop: total: 17 / 200>370 (ms?), base pass: 5 / 45>150, unaccounted 2 / 65>224. I also checked using MSI Afterburner gpu memory use, on the laptop it was 4470GB and on laptop 3022GB (maxed at 100%).

I’ve also attached a ue4 stats profile (had to change the file type to .txt from .ue4stats to allow it to upload)(can be viewed in UE4 Frontend profiler) for the level on both devices, and a screenshot of the scene being rendered…

Any help would be really appreciated.
Best regards
