Can i create a game while i am a kid 13-15?

I want to create a game.(you would be saying seriously!).Yeah but i really wanna create a game.I have got a little information about everything u need in game designing.Ok so i think that Unreal engine is good for me so can u plz tell me a game engine that i can use to create a game.I am alone so any kind of assistance will be good.

And yeah the question can i create a game?can i?

Plz i really need assistance and help if u read this i will be very thankful to you

I am 15 and I create games with unreal, the only difference is I have had a good amount of previous coding experience. I think the question is less whether or not you COULD but more if your WILLING to spend the time to learn everything their is to learn. Unless your going to put together a team (might be a good idea), then you have to learn a lot more than unreal, 3-D modeling, animating, probably some C++ code.

If your willing to spend the time I’m sure you can do it

Hey man Im 13 as well and sure hell would am dying to create a first person game. To answer your question its highly possible but with ue4 ya gotta know your stuff (blueprints, particle systems, etc) i recommend you read everything thats useful in unreal engine 4 documentation

It’s undoubtedly possible to create a game regardless of your age (within reason) as long as you have the time and commitment to do so.

You may want to do some research before starting into things such as C++ and I’d certainly take a look at some of the youtube blueprint tutorial videos to get an idea of what you may be in for.

With that said, I’m not sure if there could be any legal hiccups with being so young, I think you may need an Epic representative to confirm if that’s the case (what with the licensing issues and all).

Of course you will be abel to create a game with this engine  You just need plenty of time to learn all the stuff!

I also started when I was 16 and now I’m developing a own game with a small team (://…de/), I’m recording my own tutorials and I help people here and in the forum. So as I mentioned above, with plenty of time and effort it is possible!!

The only thing which could stopp you are the 20$ which you will have to pay with a credit card → I dont know if you can have one in your country with that age, but here in Austria you have to be 18 ^^)

You can do anything you set your mind to.

I am 30 and didn’t develop a real work ethic until I was maybe 25-26. Developing games isn’t easy, but if you work at it and never give up you can definitely do it.

Better to spend your time learning game design than wasting your days playing them. Trust me, 5-10 years from if you are still doing this you will be grateful you started early. And if you quit, you will look back and wish you never did.

Just realize you are going to have to figure out tons of stuff on your own and with only whatever documentation you can find. No one is going to be able to hold your hand as you make your way up.

A young age is kind of an advantage if you are starting out. It means you have a lot of road ahead of you.

In your tags it mentions making a game like Rust alone.
Well … according to wikipedia, Garry’s Mod came out in 2006 - a precursor to Rust by its lead developer. And Rust came out in 2014. So you could say that’s the germination time of that project.
FacePunch , who made (and still make) Rust has about 20 employees.
So if you’re working alone it will likely take you, let’s say … 20 times longer to make any game of a similar scope. And those 20 developers know what they are doing already, probably after spending their teens (and more) fine-tuning their craft. You can appreciate the production values behind it. It’s a big project.

Make efforts not to work alone. You’ll progress faster. Try to learn both art and code. Neglecting one over the other will limit your options later on, and nowadays there’s plenty of resources on both for free online.

Hey guys you are very supportive thanks for your feedback.
Just one more question which softwares will i need for modelling texturing and animations?
Thanks again guys.

You can use Blender to get started with your 3d modelling and Gimp for making your textures. Both of which are free programs.

It always depends on your budget ^^ As UltraUberPieMan already mentioned, blender and gimp are a good choice, but when you have enough money you can also use 3ds , maya and photoshop

Actually, I believe students can get 3dsMax, Maya and Mudbox for free 32 months. There’s a Student link on Autodesk website: ://www.autodesk/education/free-software/all. And KRITA is also worth a look, for painting, free.

Totally agree with Bohrium “You can use Blender to get started with your 3d modelling and Gimp for making your textures. Both of which are free programs.”
There are great tutorials on youtube for “beginners blender”. Gimp is very useful and not to hard to learn.
